The ideal brief should provide the designer with enough insight about the client’s business and their preferences regarding the design. Learning about the client’s needs and concepts is the primary requisite, and thus a well informed brief is a very smooth way of starting the project. Down below I have listed the most unavoidable information that should be included in the brief.
Be sure that you include:
‣ the name and tagline (if any) of your company/business
‣ the list of services provided by your firm
‣ the qualities that make your business stand apart form its competitors
‣ the ethics and values associated with you and your business
‣ the qualities and vibes that you like to be reflected and represented by the logo
Point out if you prefer:
‣ a specific logotype or font
‣ a particular colour combination or color theme
‣ a certain imagery to be included
If you are going for a logo redesign:
‣ include the reasons why you want to update your current logo
‣ point out the important aspects of the logo that needs to be changed
